Equatorial Association of Vessels (EAV)
The EAV stories involve a hypothetical, but plausible floating nation. Being located at the Equator means, among other things, no hurricanes, tornados or Winter Storms. Ever. This makes the idea of permanently moored vessels feasible. Thunderstorms represent the worst weather phemomena.
The location mentioned in the stories has prevailing wind and water currents moving from Southeast to Northwest, allowing for wind- and water generated power.
The technology level depicted in these stories is present-day. There's basically nothing in these stories that couldn't happen right now. There may well be communities living like this today!
These stories do not depict all the technical aspects of this equatorial aquatic living. They are not intended to - this isn't a 'how to' guide.
